Productive Interruptions

Productivity is measured by how much you can get done in a day! Here is one of those days of Jesus..

Matthew 9:14 – 38 NLT
“14 One day the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus and asked him, “Why don’t your disciples fast like we do and the Pharisees do?”.. all the way through to.. 38″So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

Jesus was constantly interrupted yet remained highly productive. We are not sure what they had planned for the day, only that it had started with Him hanging out with His disciples, but all that was about to change..
His conversation was high jacked by people comparing themselves with the way He did life – v14

This interruption was again interrupted by a synagogue ruler who needed Jesus to give life to his dead daughter – v18.
On His way to help this ruler, Jesus was again interrupted by a woman who was sick for years. She took some of His power to heal herself – v20.
Jesus then arrives at the girls house but is interrupted by a noisy crowd of professional mourners – v23.
Jesus leaves their home, only to be followed by 2 blind men needing help – v27.
Jesus takes them into His house and heals them but is then interrupted by some people who gate crash with a demon possessed man needing help – v32.

Most of us fight off the interruptions because we see them as distractions to our schedule. But when your life is dedicated to revealing God’s kingdom and His message of love and grace, then interruptions and distractions are merely opportunities for us to do God’s work in the earth.

It becomes imperative then, to allow more time than is needed in our schedules in order to live a life of Productive Interruptions!

How do you handle / cope with interruptions and where could you adjust a little??
