Verse Of The Day: May 4

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Thought:

There are many Christians who get all stressed about knowing what God's will is. It is true that God has things for all of us to do, but some people do nothing because they are so stressed about getting it wrong.

Doing comes out of being. We don't need to stress as much about what God wants us to do when we already know how He wants us to be.

God wants us always to be joyful. This doesn't mean you must be always happy. Our feelings are affected by our situations, but situations are temporary. Feelings are also affected by our thoughts, and these are more lasting. Being joyful is a way of thinking.

A friend had something terrible happen to him on the football field and he injured his shoulder. But he said it could have been worse and was thankful he will be back in the game soon. This is the affects of being joyful.

The way we think and feel about things has a huge influence on how we make decisions and what we do next. This is why God's will for us is to always be joyful and give thanks in every situation.

Question:

What can I work on to be more joyful?

Prayer:

God, You are my God, and I thank you for always looking out for me. Help me to be more joyful in every little situation so that the decisions I make line up with Your will for my life.

Amen.
