Verse Of The Day: May 26

Romans‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

‭‭Thought:

I became a christian when I was 14 years old, in a public high school. It was an SRE class (special religious education). I had never really heard the gospel of Jesus before. It all made so much sense. I was convicted of my sin and separation from God. So I chose that day to turn back to God and give Him my life.

Because of the nature of the SRE class, there was no public confession. The teach didn't even know that I became a Christian. As the months went on I felt a strong urge to make this public. It seemed wrong to follow Jesus without anyone knowing about it.

Declaring your faith in Jesus is meant to be a public matter. This does not mean you have to get up on a stage and tell the whole world. But it does mean you are not meant to hide it.

The life of a christian should be clearly evident in the choices we make every day. It should also be clearly seen in the way we treat ourselves and other people.

As the bible becomes the most important piece of writing in your life, everyone around you will eventually start to see a change. You will become more like Jesus in your nature and attitude and character. This will be a public delcaration that the most important person in your life is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Question:

Which areas of my life do I still struggle to make public in my private devotion to Jesus?

Prayer:

Jesus, You gave Your life for me in front of the whole world. You made a public spectical of the devil when You defeated sin and death. Please help me to love You openly and not be ashamed of being a Christian. Amen.
