11. The Reality Of Faith
Verse Of The Day: May 11
Hebrews 11:1 NLT
“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”
Faith in Jesus is an active trust that believes what God says will come true. We all hope for many things. And hope is like an anchor that steadies your soul. But hope in itself is still left to chance.
You don't hope in the wind for the storm to change or hope in Mother Nature to deliver you a better day. You hope in the realness of a person who can actually change things for you.
I have hope in my wife that she will love me and look out for me. I am hopeful because her character has been proven over many years.
It is the same with God. He is the creator of the universe and governs things according to His own nature. When you know more about God and how He does things, you start to hope for what you know God wants to happen.
I know God wants to see people turn back to Him so they find forgiveness and life in Him. This means I can live with an expectation that people are open to finding life and a godly expression of His church on the earth. So I have faith that we will build a great church that people will want to be part of.
I know that God wants me to live a healthy life that lasts long enough for me to do His will in my life. So, I can place my faith in Jesus knowing that whatever health challenge I face, He will give me answers and guidance to live longer than any diagnosis.
Faith gives you a glimpse of what you cannot see.
Is my faith in a thing, an idea or the person of Jesus?
Father God, help me to know You more and understand what You are doing in the earth. Help me to trust You in a greater way so that I can follow You more closely and see Your kingdom become a reality in my life.
In Jesus name. Amen.
