Ready To Help
The christian religion is one that should leave the world in a better place. People should leave our presence and feel greater worth, a sense of purpose and even a hunger for what lays mysteriously beneath the surface of our first encounters.
Our church is filled with thousands of examples of people spontaneously making life better for other individuals.
Romans 12:13 NLT
“When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
Recently, our CityCare team (community mission) came into contact with a man and his son who were in despair are need. Often days without food and struggling to make ends meet. To make things worse, his car was stolen and fire bombed.
We were able to assist him with food and other help and told his story on our screens across all our weekend services. Tyson was in our church for the first time the same weekend his story played on the screens.
People were so moved across our different campuses in Australia that they started sending messages to our Hobart campus pastor (Kent) and donating money to help Tyson.
Well, enough people donated money that our team in Hobart were able to buy, register and insure this car for Tyson and his son.
When I told them a week later, the church erupted with celebration.
