Why Is It More Blessed To Give?
Christians understand the significance of tithing. We know that the first part belongs to The Lord. The first part is the tenth or the tithe, and this belongs to The Lord. In this way we partner with God in Him building His church and we learn to trust that everything we have and need comes from Him.
There are some who think that if you give God will bless you. If you give an offering God will heal you. If you give then life will show you kindness. But God wants you blessed regardless of your activity. The kindness of God leads us to repentance.
Acts 20:33-35 NLT
““I have never coveted anyone’s silver or gold or fine clothes. You know that these hands of mine have worked to supply my own needs and even the needs of those who were with me. And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ””
Imagine you are standing on a large platform, perhaps a stage, and that stage represents God's blessing in your life. If you walk to the right that is the zone of giving. If you walk to the left that is the zone of receiving. But no matter where you walk on this platform you are blessed.
You are blessed when you receive from God (left side). You are blessed when you receive love, or kindness, or forgiveness. You are blessed when you receive help and healing.
You're blessed! It's just that you're 'more' blessed when you give. When you grow in your christian maturity and learn to give, you're more blessed. You're blessed when you can give help. You're blessed when you are positioned encourage, to serve, to contribute and when you are able to do anything more than just receive.
So, you are blessed when you receive. It's just that you're more blessed when you can give!
