Take Another Look At God's Goodness
I guess we have all had a negative interaction with somebody that has left a bad taste in our mouth. And sometimes this taste can influence the way we relate to other people.
There are many situations in our lives where our awkward interactions with people can be traced back to earlier encounters with authority figures. It could be a negative experience with a school teacher? Or perhaps it was a parental influence? It may even have been a church leader or some other leader in society.
Sadly, we often relate to God through the lens or filter with which we have experienced other authority figures.
I have often said, I should not have an issue with my dad just because my brother is a jerk. How I relate to one person (badly) should not affect how I relate to other people.
Psalms 34:8 NLT
“Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!”
God is not like any of us humans. His ways and thoughts are much higher than ours. We should never think of Jesus through the negative lens of other people. God our Father is good. Jesus the Son gave His life for us. God is always with us by His Spirit.
No mater how bad things have been, or how bad other people have been to us, let's take another look at God's goodness.
