Day 1 | What's Up With CHaNGe?

Discipleship is the process of becoming like Jesus. Some would say (and I agree) that this is a life long journey. Becoming like Jesus obviously involves change and, well.. change can be uncomfortable. But sometimes change is amazing.

Getting married was an awesome change for me. Becoming a father was another awesome change. Becoming a Christian has been the greatest change of all.

What's Up With CHaNGe is designed to help you walk this out for a month and realise that we are all changing all the time. There is far more to be said for how good change can be. We either change and become like Jesus or keep letting society change us The bible says, don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.

You will look back, with many others, who all agree there have been significant changes. These changes are usually in your conversations, your thoughts, the way you treat people and the way you go about daily life in the world around you.

How have I changed?

Do people around me suggest I have changed?

Father, you made me and you love me and you know the best way for me to live my life. I don't want to become so well-adjusted to my culture that I fit into it without even thinking. Lord, please help me to embrace everything you do for me. I want to be more like you, in Jesus name. Amen.

Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭MSG

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
